DR RACHEL CORRIS
Dr Rachel Corris is a Consultant Anaesthetist with a public hospital appointment at Peninsula Health and appointments at Cabrini Health, Holmesglen and Masada Private Hospitals. Rachel graduated from medicine at Monash University with honours in 2006 and completed post-graduate anaesthesia training through Monash Health with rotations to the Royal Women’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.
In 2014 to 2016, Rachel undertook further specialist training in the UK at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, primarily attached to the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit. In addition to managing high risk liver, renal and pancreatic transplant patients, the unit provides care for patients having hepatobiliary, major upper GI, endocrine and bariatric surgery. Rachel spent the remainder of her fellowship time attached to the busy vascular and obstetric units at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Rachel enjoys mentoring junior anaesthesia and nursing colleagues and is involved with teaching, particularly through simulation. She is a qualified Emergency Management of Anaesthesia Crisis (EMAC) instructor at the Epworth hospital and is completing her Masters in Clinical Education through the University of Edinburgh.
Rachel believes in working with patients to formulate a personalized anaesthesia plan.
